Actor Lorenzo Flaherty Under Trial for Scooter Collision

Actor Lorenzo Flaherty, known for TV series such as «Distretto di polizia» and «Ris delitti imperfetti», is on trial accused of running over a scooter. The driver was injured. The incident, according to the Prosecution charging the actor with the crime of road injuries, occurred on October 10, 2022, at Piazza di Ponte Sant’Angelo. This was reported by Corriere della Sera. Also involved in the accident was Vanessa Ferrero, daughter of Massimo, the film producer and former president of Sampdoria, also known as «Viperetta». She was sitting on the scooter as a passenger and did not sustain any injuries.

The Accident

The actor was driving his Smart car. Suddenly, the car driven by Flaherty rear-ended a Piaggio scooter. The driver couldn't control the vehicle and fell to the ground. According to the accusation, Flaherty was driving too fast. Had he been going slower, the Prosecution argues he would have had time to realize the presence of the Piaggio and avoid the impact. Nonetheless, the actor stopped and provided assistance to the two victims of the accident: one is Vanessa Ferrero, the other is Fabio Fiorelli, who suffered an injury to the anterior and posterior cruciate ligament of the right knee.
