Chiara Ferragni Will Not Be Reappointed to Tod's Board of Directors

Chiara Ferragni will not be reconfirmed in the board of directors of Tod's. Di.Vi. Finanziaria, a vehicle controlled by Diego Della Valle that holds 50.291% of Tod's capital, has submitted the majority list for the renewal of the board of the Marche-based clothing company at the April meeting: among the nine candidates does not appear that of the influencer who had entered the board in the spring of 2021. The list is led by the same president and CEO Diego Della Valle and sees Maria D'Agata (general counsel of Intercos) in second place. The third name on the list is that of Andrea Della Valle, current vice president.

"With us, Chiara Ferragni has always been very correct, she has done some nice charity work. We do not want to hastily deal with a matter that concerns the dignity of people," said Diego Della Valle last February 23 commenting on the judicial case concerning the influencer. "Let things take their course. Let people be judged in the places designated for it. And then we will each make our decisions. We are treating the subject very seriously. We await all the decisions to be made," declared the president of Tod's.

Joining the board in 2021

The influencer from Cremona joined the board of Tod's on April 21, 2021. At the time, the announcement caused a sharp increase in Tod's stock prices, which in a single day increased the market value by over 100 million euros. According to company records, Ferragni participated in only three out of 17 total meetings.

The absences

An absenteeism rate of 82.4 percent. A real record. As reported by Il Sole 24 Ore, in 2021 she was absent five times out of six. In 2022 it did not go much better: Ferragni attended only two of the 11 scheduled meetings. As for 2023, the company's data are not yet available. For her presence on Tod's board, Ferragni received remuneration of 25,500 euros gross in 2021 and 36,700 in 2022. In total 62,200 euros, which corresponds on average to 20,733 euros for each meeting the influencer attended.
