Woman Dies Trying to Rescue Cat from Roof in Nettuno

She climbed onto the roof in front of her apartment in Nettuno, to rescue her cat Titti. This is how Valentina Salani, a 40-year-old woman, died, possibly slipping from the plexiglass dome of the skylight she had climbed. She fell into the building's atrium, in the St. Giacomo district. The alarm was raised around 8pm and immediately the Anzio firefighters, the 118 ambulance, and the police patrol cars arrived. Her father, mother and fifteen-year-old son were meanwhile witnessing the scene. Her husband, who works outside Nettuno, arrived home when the body had already been covered. The funeral will be held on Friday at 3.30pm in the Sacred Heart church.
