Volunteer Recruitment for Rome 2024 European Athletics Championships

Recruiting Day in the Regional Committees of FIDAL in Pescara, Naples, and Rome Rome, March 20, 2024 - A diverse group of women and men of all ages, united by a great passion for sports. The team of volunteers who will participate in an operational role at the European Athletics Championships Rome 2024, scheduled from June 7 to 12, is taking shape. More than 1,300 applications have been collected so far for the "Rome 2024 Volunteers" project, about 300 of which come from residents abroad, on all continents. The age of the candidates who have submitted their application ranges from 18 years to over 64 years. Humangest, as the HR Supplier of the EuroRoma 2024 Foundation organizing the international sports event, is continuing the recruiting activity. The deadline for submitting applications has been extended until next April 26, with the goal of selecting 1,100 people at the end of the process. All those interested in participating in the Europeans as volunteers can fill out the form available on the website eventi.humangest.it/job-seekers.php Moreover, the EuroRoma 2024 Foundation has launched a volunteer recruiting campaign within the secondary schools of the Lazio Region and at the Amateur Sports Associations (ASD) affiliated with FIDAL. To further support the campaign, in the coming weeks, "recruiting days" will be organized in the territory to allow aspiring volunteers to receive detailed information about the experience they will live during the event. Three appointments have already been set at the Regional Committees of FIDAL: March 27 in Pescara, April 10 in Naples, and April 17 in Rome. "I have volunteered at the Olympic Stadium for the Golden Gala in the past and I invite everyone to participate in the Rome Europeans which will be an incredible event. We athletes are waiting for you to have fun together, come and cheer for us" is the message from the Italian national team sprinter Lorenzo Simonelli on the digital channels of Rome 2024. The volunteers who will join the "Rome 2024 Volunteers" team will have the opportunity to meet the most important European athletes and attend the competitions at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, they will also receive some exclusive benefits: access to specific training meetings curated by Humangest and the EuroRoma 2024 Foundation, an official uniform made by Karhu, official supplier for the technical material of the event, which will be assigned to each volunteer, and participation in a dedicated party. Following the selection phase, the volunteers will follow a first general training course, both online and in person, and will then be assigned to specific functional areas related to the organization of the event: Accreditation, Services for spectators, Competitions, Protocol and Ceremonies, Media-Communication, Medical-Antidoping Area, Hotels, Logistics, Transport, Venue, Hospitality, Sponsor Services, and Marketing. A part of the volunteers will also be made available to the city, at strategic locations, and will take care of providing information and tourist-cultural services in view of the Europeans. The necessary requirements to participate in the Humangest selection process: a) have reached 18 years of age by June 7, 2024, that is, by the start date of Rome 2024 (or have reached the age of majority at the beginning of the volunteer experience, in case of collateral activities); b) be Italian citizens with knowledge of the English language or citizens of other nationalities with knowledge of the English and Italian language, basic level; c) enjoy civil and political rights; d) guarantee a minimum availability of participation in the event based on the official calendar dates and/or collateral events.
