VIECCE! Exploring Life in Rome's Neighborhoods Through Comedy

VIECCE! is the first podcast series by Rome Capital dedicated to life in the city's neighborhoods. Starting Thursday, April 11, two weekly episodes (available on major streaming platforms and on the Rome Capital website) for a semi-serious journey through anecdotes, alleys, squares, and venues, discovering the most beloved places of the neighborhoods through the voice of those who live, work, and cultivate their talent in Rome. Featuring five of the numerous neighborhoods of the Capital, Monte Sacro, Portuense, Garbatella, Tuscolano, and San Giovanni, narrated respectively by Edoardo Ferrario, Francesco De Carlo, Marta Filippi, Stefano Rapone, and Valerio Lundini. Five young comedic talents move through the streets of the neighborhoods in the company of Giorgio Maria Daviddi, a true Roman and voice of the Trio Medusa, to tell, in their own way, how they live in Rome and how the city is a source of inspiration for their work. It starts with Edoardo Ferrario, among the most beloved Italian stand-up comedians, successful podcaster, and his story of Monte Sacro, the neighborhood of adoption of which he is a true connoisseur. Navigating through the streets of Città Giardino like a Monte Sacro's Alberto Angela, Edoardo talks about the historical memory of the neighborhood while also appreciating its innovations. The journey continues with Francesco De Carlo, flag-bearer of Italian stand-up comedy in the world, who describes the Portuense neighborhood as a limbo between roots and ambitions; a colorful neighborhood where different souls coexist, to be observed strictly from a scooter. In the third episode, an unprecedented Marta Filippi, comic actress and voice actress, opens the doors of Garbatella, the neighborhood where her family has lived for generations, from which she draws inspiration for the characters she portrays on her social profile "La Casa di Marta", starting with Nonna Cesira, the typical lady of South Rome. Guest of the fourth episode, Stefano Rapone, undisputed genius of minimal comedy: a comfortable and relaxed lifestyle like his, where everything must be within reach (or metro), finds the perfect location in Tuscolano, a neighborhood not only very populous, but also the one with the highest concentration of people who make a living by making the audience laugh. Closing the season of VIECCE! Valerio Lundini in a psychedelic walk through the streets of San Giovanni, between anecdotes lived as a boy and stories set in squares, comic book stores, bookstores, big concerts, and bizarre live music venues: at VIECCE! he reveals his solid affection for the neighborhood, despite the terrible sense of direction. VIECCE! is a project by Rome Capital born to enhance life in the neighborhoods of Rome, their diversity, and the bond that indissolubly unites Romans to the areas of the city they live in by birth or adoption.
