The Life and Career of Corinne Clery: Personal Struggles and Achievements

Corinne Clery was born in Saint Germain en Laye, Paris, on March 23, 1950. Her real name is Corinne Marie Picolo. In the early years of her career she used the pseudonym of Corinne Piccoli, then definitively adopted that of Corinne Clery. She started working very young and got married when she was still underage. Corinne Crey recently revealed a dramatic episode from her adolescence, when a jealous ex-boyfriend caused her serious physical damage. She was only 15 years old. The ex-boyfriend threw a firecracker at her that burned one of her eyes. The event marked Corinne's life, whose sight was compromised due to the accident. Despite the consequences of her injury, the woman was able to develop a brilliant acting career, achieving great success. Successful actress, she began acting at just 17 years old but the film that launched her was 'Histoire d'O', an erotic film from 1975. One of the roles for which she is most remembered abroad, under the name of Corinne Dufour, is that of Bond girl in the James Bond Agent 007 film 'Moonraker - Operation space' from 1979. Over the years, Cléry has managed to make herself known also in Italy where she collaborated with big names of the Italian big screen, such as Giorgio Capitani, Salvatore Samperi, Lucio Fulci, Sergio Corbucci and Carlo Lizzani. She also worked in the theater, debuting in 2004 in the comedy 'Casina'. Between 2006 and 2015 she got further roles including in 'Three women looking for trouble' and 'Eight women'. Corinne is not only famous for her film and theater roles, but also for having taken part in fiction and television programs. Between 1974 and 1976 she participated in the advertising column 'Carosello', broadcast on Rai1. In the eighties she is one of the protagonists of fiction and dramas including 'Incantesimo' 8 and 9 and 'Desperately Giulia'. In 2009, however, she is part of the cast of the program of Milly Carlucci, 'Dancing with the stars', but is eliminated after the first episode. In 2013 she took part in 'Pechino Express' with her partner at the time Angelo Costabile. In 2017, finally, she entered the house of the Grande Fratello Vip, but also in this case she did not reach the final. At 17 she married Hubert Wayaffa, famous film producer, from whom she had her only son, Alexandre. In 2004 she ties and marries for the second time with the decorator Beppe Ercole, known for having also been the husband of Serena Grandi. Their relationship ended in 2010 due to his death. In 2017 she had a romantic relationship with Angelo Costabile, from whom she then separated. Alexandre Wayaffe is the son of Corinne Clery and the French radio host Hubert Wayaffe, whom the actress married at just 17 years old in 1967. Unfortunately between mother and son there are no good relationships and they have not spoken for four years: 'Alexandre was my life, he grew up with me and I with him because I was a child, but for me it's a closed chapter. I don't even have resentment anymore, I just feel sorry for him because he's missing a great mom', she said in an interview with the weekly F. The actress revealed that she often somatized the discussions with her son Alexandre: 'For the pain I even got sick, my face and neck suddenly swelled and I had to take cortisone. One day for a trivial fight with him some things came out that made me say: "Enough, everyone for their own way". After a week I was healed'. Last year, during her experience on 'L'isola dei famosi', the actress however returned to talk about the relationship with her son, expressing the desire to re-establish the relationship: 'Since I'm here I always think about my son. The paths are not always easy, over the years my son and I have drifted away. One day we had a big fight, but there had been others, and everyone went their own way. We don't see each other, we don't talk, it's the biggest pain of my life'. But from Honduras the actress also launches an appeal to Alexander: 'It's been six years that I keep it inside and I can't give myself peace because he was my life. I would like to have a dialogue that is not there, maybe one day he will decide to knock on my door'.
