Maybe he trusted someone he shouldn't have," the grandparents told Vita in diretta, reiterating that they are waiting for him "with open arms." Everyone, relatives and friends, agree that there were no clear signs of discomfort, such as to presuppose a departure. Even his school performance was good. At the Central Station in Milan, Edoardo was seen walking calmly in front of some shops, and then eating an ice cream, accompanied by a person now being identified. The point now is to start from Milan and try to understand where Edoardo has headed. And this is what the investigations are focused on. The ticket left to the friend. But what path did Edoardo take? As reconstructed by "Chi l'ha visto?", the teenager actually got off the train in Morbegno, a small town in the Valtellina in the province of Sondrio. At 7:30 am, the young man was captured by the station's cameras and just three minutes later he turned off his phone, which will no longer be turned on and is still reachable today. However, Edoardo did not take the usual road to go to school. He went in the opposite direction, towards a friend's house. He did not ring the bell, he just left a 20 euro bill in the mailbox. A small debt to settle. On the bill, he also wrote a phrase: "Never stop dreaming." A bad sign according to the young man's father, interviewed by Rai3's correspondent. "Obviously - he explains - he had in mind to go who knows where, not to return." Before leaving, Edoardo did not want to leave anything unresolved. "This is what really worries us." The mystery of the double folder. Then the young man returns to the station and, according to investigators, gets on the train headed towards Lecco and Milan. At Milan Central, he is filmed again by the cameras. It is 9:50 in the morning. Edoardo, the parents who have seen the videos say, is alone. "Exactly as we saw him in the Morbegno clip." The teenager seems lucid and in good health. However, there is something unusual in the image taken in Morbegno. In his right hand, Edoardo has two white folders. A detail that the mother had already noticed that morning, before the boy left home. "I need them for a course we do after school," the young man had replied. The hypothesis of a planned escape. Edoardo would have also taken a sleeping bag that the parents can no longer find. He would have put it in his backpack, instead of the books. A planned escape, perhaps. But to go where? Edoardo was an idealist. And he loved the mountains. "He never had strange behaviors, he never drank, he is passionate about cooking, does not drink, does not smoke. He is the classic golden boy," the father recounted. The Russian lead. But the hypothesis of an escape to the mountains in the last few hours seems to have lost consistency. The other hypothesis is that the boy may have gone to Russia, the mother's native country. Recently, the teenager, a convinced pacifist, would have continued to update himself on the developments of the war in Ukraine, although the father recounted that he did not talk about it much at home. Edoardo would have taken the double passport, both Italian and Russian. The mother's fear is that he chatted on Telegram with someone from the east, not a relative and not even a friend. His profile, however, no longer exists. "He didn't take much stuff from home," the father says in front of the Rai3 cameras. "Our fear is that he went to enlist somewhere, he probably already had some arrangements with someone." The parents also discovered that on March 1, twenty days before disappearing into thin air, Edoardo had not gone to school. That day he would have taken a train to Milan to go in front of the consulate. He would have also shown a photo to his classmates. The mystery of the boy who disappeared at the same time. Not everything. From the investigations, it emerged that on March 21, the day of Edoardo's disappearance, another boy, also 17 years old, had lost track in the same area. The young man would have taken a train from a small town in the Valtellina to get off right at Colico. From there he disappeared into thin air only to reappear 48 hours later in Bologna where his sister lives. Now he is at home and is fine. The two teenagers attended nearby schools "and as far as we understand," the father says, "there was some friendship in common. It is very strange as a coincidence."
