Support Measures for Families: Purchase Card and Dedicated Social Card

On one hand, the Purchase Card, on the other, the "Dedicated to You" social card: two measures that, despite the latter not yet being operational in 2024, could offer up to almost a thousand euros to families meeting the criteria for both. To be precise, nine hundred and forty euros, which would be a significant help for families in difficulty. The Purchase Card The Purchase Card is a tool dedicated to families with at least one member under the age of three or over 65. This rechargeable card provides a credit of 40 euros per month - but is credited every two months - that can be used in supermarkets, food stores, or pharmacies and parapharmacies. The requirements? In addition to the aforementioned age parameter, the ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) must not exceed 8,052.75 euros (value updated to 2024). In the case of a family with an over 65, it is also necessary to respect the income received by individual members, which must not exceed 8,052.75 euros and 10,737 euros for those aged 75. The Requirements In neither case should one own: - more than one domestic (even if not domestic) electricity account; - more than two gas accounts; - more than two motor vehicles; - more than one residential property (with a share equal to or greater than 25%); - non-residential properties (with a share equal to or greater than 10%); - movable assets exceeding 15,000 euros. Dedicated to You Card For the Dedicated to You social card, instead, there is no need to meet age-related criteria for family members. Introduced in 2023 and renewed for 2024 (even though the implementing decree is still pending), it is a card that is recharged once with a fixed amount, which for this year should be about 460 euros: it can be used to purchase some food items, to buy gasoline, and for public transport subscriptions. It is aimed at families with an ISEE below 15 thousand euros and who do not already receive other supports. The priorities for allocation are to have a large family - at least three members - and dependent children, especially if under the age of 10. In this case, there is no need to apply: the Municipalities automatically assign them based on availability.
