Solemn Good Friday Via Crucis at the Colosseum with Pope Francis

Tonight, Friday, March 29, 2024 from 9 PM to 11:30 PM, there will be the Solemn Via Crucis at the Colosseum (in Rome) celebrated by Pope Francis for Good Friday. Roads closed and restrictions on traffic and some Atac lines from 1 PM to allow the event, which will be broadcast worldwide on Rai1. The area of the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum with the Flavian Amphitheatre, Palatine Forum, and Roman Forum will exceptionally close to tourist visits from 1 PM on Friday with last entry at 12, also for security reasons, until the end of the religious celebrations. Parking bans, already from the night between Thursday and Friday, among others on: via di San Gregorio and via Celio Vibenna; via di San Bonaventura, via della Salara Vecchia, via Clivio di Venere Felice and largo Corrado Ricci. No parking also at piazza di Santa Francesca Romana; largo Gaetana Agnesi; via degli Annibaldi, via Nicola Salvi and via del Colosseo; via Vittorino da Feltre; via del Fagutale, via del Monte Oppio, largo Peikov; via delle Terme di Tito, via del Tempio della Pace and via in Miranda. On the occasion of the Via Crucis at the Colosseum with Pope Francis at 1 PM until the end of service, the Atac bus lines 51, 75, 81, 85, 87,117, and 118 will be diverted. On Friday and Saturday, the A, B, B1, and C metro lines follow the extended schedule, with the last trips from the terminals at 1:30 AM.
