Rome-Ostia Half Marathon: Road Closures and Schedule

From Eur to Ostia. Scheduled for today, March 3rd, is the 49th edition of the Rome-Ostia Half Marathon, spanning 21 kilometers. There are more than 10,000 participants this year, with a long list of roads closed or off-limits to traffic. Among the roads traversed by the thousands of participants who will take part in the competition on Sunday are Viale Europa and Viale Tupini, Viale dell'Umanesimo, Viale del Ciclismo, Viale della Tecnica, Viale dei Primati Sportivi, and Viale dell'Oceano Pacifico. The race will then proceed on Via Cristoforo Colombo, heading towards Ostia, with the finish line set up on Piazzale Cristoforo Colombo.

Rome-Ostia Half Marathon: Road Closures and Times

At 2 AM between Saturday and Sunday, the setup of structures in the starting area (Eur) began with the closure to vehicle traffic of Via Cristoforo Colombo towards Ostia, in the stretch between Viale Europa and Viale dell'Oceano Pacifico, and the beginning of the setup of structures in the arrival area in Piazzale Cristoforo Colombo and Lungomare Amerigo Vespucci.

At 7 AM, the athletes' gathering is scheduled in Via Colombo at the height of Viale America, at 8 AM the closure of Colombo towards Ostia at Piazzale 25 Marzo 1957, except for the side lanes which will remain open. At 8:50 AM, the start of the paralympic race is scheduled, and at 9 AM, the start of the 21.097 km race. The event is expected to end at 11:30 AM, with the dismantling of the structures in the starting area and the reopening to vehicle traffic of Via Cristoforo Colombo towards Ostia, in the stretch between Viale America and Via di Mezzocamino. At 1:30 PM, the sports event will conclude, while the dismantling of the structures in the arrival area in Piazzale Cristoforo Colombo and Lungomare Amerigo Vespucci and the complete reopening to vehicle traffic is expected around 3:30 PM.

Bus Line Diversions and Limitations

For the event, bus lines 06, 014, 016F, 070, 30, 31, 73, 671, 700, 705, 706, 708, 709, 712, 714, 762, 779, 780, 788, 791, C7, C13, and n070 will undergo diversions and limitations. The 070, from the start of service until 11:30 AM, will be suspended. Then, from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, diverted. In the Eur area, from the start of service until about 11:30 AM, a diversion is also planned for lines 763, 764, 767, 771, 777, and 778. Lines 763, 764, 767, and 771, which usually run between Piazzale dell'Agricoltura and Viale dell'Arte, will pass through Via delle Tre Fontane and Viale dell'Artigianato. The 777 between Piazzale dell'Agricoltura and Viale Egeo will divert through Via delle Tre Fontane and Viale di Val Fiorita. Finally, the 778 between Viale Egeo and Viale dell'Arte will pass through Viale di Val Fiorita, Via delle Tre Fontane, and Viale dell'Artigianato.
