Riccardo Bossi, Son of Lega's Founder, on Trial for Mother's Abuse

The trial against Riccardo Bossi, the firstborn of the founder of Lega, for abuse towards his mother that occurred in 2016, opened today in Varese. Among the episodes contested by the prosecution to Bossi, who denies all charges, there are incessant requests for money made to his mother Gigliola Guidali, the first wife of Umberto Bossi, with outbursts of anger that in one case led the defendant to assault the woman who at that time was hosting him in her house in Azzate, causing her to hit her head against the wall, while on another occasion the insults and tense atmosphere would push the parent to flee the house, just to get away from her son. For one aspect of the case, regarding the alleged threats of the son towards his mother, he has already been acquitted in a preliminary hearing, after the parent had previously withdrawn the lawsuit filed. Riccardo Bossi, who in the past was convicted for buying jewels and other products without ever paying for them, and recently investigated for a presumed fraud against the State by the prosecutor of Busto Arsizio because he would have taken the citizenship income between 2020 and 2023 without being entitled to it, is not new to judicial troubles.
