Rain Halts Indian Wells Semifinal Between Sinner and Alcaraz

The Indian Wells semifinal between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz was temporarily suspended due to rain. The two tennis players stopped with a score of 2-1 in favor of the Italian in the first set. Initially, they waited a few minutes on the court, then they went back to the locker rooms. After about 15 minutes, they tried to return to the playing field but the bad weather did not allow the match to resume regularly. It is not yet certain when the game can resume. Rain is expected until about 11:30/11:45 PM. Another approximately 30 minutes will be needed to dry the field. Consequently, the match cannot resume before midnight (Italian time). With the time difference of 8 hours, the match should therefore resume at 4 PM (local time).
