Pope Francis Removes Bishop from Diocese in Poland Amid Abuse Investigation

Pope Francis has removed Monsignor Andrzej Franciszek Dziuba from the pastoral governance of the diocese of Lowicz in Poland. A priest was sentenced to 4 years for violence against a minor: the case was covered up by Bishop Gisana. The nunciature in Warsaw explains that there were difficulties in pastoral governance and particularly omissions in dealing with cases of abuse on minors committed by priests, as emerged from an investigation conducted by the Holy See, according to the Motu proprio Vos estis lux mundi.
