Navy Band's Charity Concert: A Night of Solidarity and Music

The traditional solidarity concert of the Navy Band took place on Tuesday evening, in the presence of the highest political and military authorities, in the Santa Cecilia hall of the Auditorium Parco della Musica, to support the Francesca Rava Foundation - NPH Italia Onlus, an event held annually since 2001 and broadcast live streaming on the official social Youtube channel of the Navy. During the event, hosted by journalist Veronica Maya along with two Navy officers and a distinguished promoter, Rajae Bezzaz, it was possible to contribute to the "Ball in the Center" project of the Rava Foundation by purchasing the Easter gifts offered in the foyer of the Auditorium. The collaboration between the Navy and the Francesca Rava Foundation began in 2010 during the rescue operation following the devastating earthquake in Haiti. On that occasion, the Cavour ship embarked personnel and equipment from the Civil Protection and the Red Cross, crossing the ocean to provide aid. This year, support was confirmed with Operation Levante aboard the Vulcano ship, where the medical personnel of the Defense and the obstetric and gynecological staff of the Foundation worked side by side. The concert was also an opportunity to present the Navy Report 2023 and to remember how the year just ended was a year of significant commitment for the Navy, with a 10% increase in operational pressure compared to the previous year. The presence of the Navy extended from the Baltic to the Red Sea, from the Mediterranean to the Gulf of Guinea and the Indian Ocean, ensuring the protection of national interests at sea continuously. The sea represents the "liquid heritage" that supports the social, cultural, and economic foundations of the country, it has always been at the base of its security, prosperity, and its possibility of strategic projection and international positioning. The national interests at sea and under the sea have a global dimension. In the course of a process of coherent and harmonious renewal and through a careful balance between resources and objectives, the Navy is integrating technology into its being to innovate with ethics and responsibility. The horizon of innovation moves beyond 2035 towards Units as strategic and integrated hubs of multi-capacity systems.
