International Padel Stars Light Up Venice Padel Club

From the azure Riccardo Sinicropi paired with the Italo-Argentinian Nicolas Brusa to the former world number 17 Marcelo Calneggia with 'Edo' Sardella, up to the 'Fab Four' and top 25 of the FITP ranking Parmigiani, Zanchetta, Olmo, and Ciabattoni, the stars of international padel are arriving at the Venice Padel Club. If Venice is an illusionistic game elected to city, for a week it is also the theater of the moment's game, padel. The Mediolanum Padel Cup 2024, an Open FITP with fifteen thousand euros of prize money, enters its hottest and most spectacular phase with the arrival of the strongest players, protagonists of the national and international stage and ready to compete on the fields of the Venice Padel Club, a jewel-club of Venice-Mestre. A tournament that involves athletes of every category, up to the strongest players in the national ranking. This is the case of Riccardo Sinicropi, a great interpreter of international padel, player of the Italian National team and protagonist at the European Games in Krakow 2023. Sinicropi, number 9 in the FITP ranking and 123rd player in the new world ranking of the FIP (International Padel Federation) will take the field in the Mediolanum Padel Cup 2024 - the first of six Open tournaments of the new sports adventure signed by Banca Mediolanum with the partnership of American Express for this year's project - with the Italo-Argentinian Nicolas Brusa, number 219 FIP and 25th in the FITP ranking. Last September the two were opponents in the final at the FIP Rise Sassuolo, when Sinicropi, at the time paired with Giulio Graziotti, prevailed over Brusa, who took the field paired with Flavio Abbate. Sinicropi-Brusa is the number one pair in the draw in the first of the six appointments branded Mediolanum that will wind from north to south with the Open tournaments of Bari, Rome, Ancona, Palermo, Milan. The number two pair in the draw is formed by Edoardo Sardella (22nd FITP 331 FIP ranking) and the Italo-Argentinian Cristian Marcelo Calneggia (15th FITP ranking and 389 FIP). Calneggia, 43 years old, is one of the symbolic players of the world circuit, three years in a row national champion in Argentina, former world number 17 and reference point of the padel movement of his country and in Italy. On the podium of the top seeds are the Spaniards Manuel Rocafort Lores (151 FIP and 35 FITP), a player very known and appreciated here in Italy, and the Italo-Argentinian Julian Americo Di Bene (252 FIP and 28 FITP), with whom he reached the semifinal of the FIP Promotion Giulianova. Fourth place in the seeding for Giacomo Miccini (23 FITP and 425 FIP), semifinalist at the FIP Rise Sassuolo with the Spaniard Jorge Ruiz, and the experienced Italo-Argentinian Juan Manuel Restivo (143 FIP). In the women's draw, the number 1 seeds will be the Brescia native Martina Parmigiani and Erika Zanchetta, originally from Latina, respectively eighth and twenty-second in the FITP women's ranking and top 150 in the world ranking. Parmigiani arrives full of enthusiasm at this tournament, given the successes in February at San Carlo Canavese and in the Milan Open. In the lower part of the draw, the most accredited players are Flaminia Olmo and Paola Ciabattoni, in order number 18 and number 20 of the FITP ranking, who in their first commitment will have to face the winner between Procoli/Raunich and Mascherini, in pair with Maria Elena Camerin former number 41 of the WTA tennis ranking and federal technician in the FITP frames. Completing the lot of favorites are Giorgia Rosi and Francesca Campigotto, number 3 in the draw, together with Giulia Pasini and Anna Signorini, number 4 in the seeding. It is therefore under the banner of 'padel democracy', the official entry of Banca Mediolanum into the role of promoter of the six Open tournaments that will cross Italy starting from Venice Mestre involving clients, amateurs, and professionals of the discipline, after the experience alongside Milan Premier Padel P1 2023 last December, one of the most important professional padel tournaments in the world of the Premier Padel circuit governed by the FIP. The Mediolanum Padel Cup 2024 fits into the fabric of the Mediolanum Sport Days, a widespread programming of sports activities branded Banca Mediolanum.
