Former 125 World Champion Andrea Dovizioso Injured in Motocross Accident

Andrea Dovizioso, 38 years old, already world champion of the 125 class, was injured this morning, around 11 o'clock, falling from his motocross bike along a track in the locality of Il Tasso in the municipality of Terranuova Bracciolini, in the province of Arezzo. Dovizioso, who had retired from official competitions, was training with his bike. In the fall, he suffered a head trauma. The champion is not in life-threatening condition, but, as a precaution, was still transferred by the Pegaso helicopter rescue service to the Careggi hospital in Florence in a code red condition. "Our Pegaso helicopter rescue service of the Tuscany Region intervened in Terranuova Bracciolini for an accident that occurred to Andrea Dovizioso on a motocross track, transporting him in an emergency to the Careggi hospital where he is hospitalized but not in life-threatening condition. I thank all the rescuers who intervened and our medical staff who are currently treating him. Stay strong Dovi!". So on Facebook the president of Tuscany, Eugenio Giani, after learning of the accident that caused the injury of the former world champion of the 125 class.
