Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in Rome Leads to Arrest

After colliding with a scooter, he drove away without offering assistance to the motorcyclist, who later died in the hospital. However, the car driver was tracked down by the local police. The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon in Rome, at the intersection between Via di Valle Melaina and Via Monte Cervialto. Officers from the III Nomentano Group were on the scene. Involved in the accident were a scooter and a car that, after the collision, left the scene without offering assistance. The 51-year-old motorcyclist, Enzo Sirignano, was transported to the Policlinico Umberto I where he later died. The officers, having gathered some fragments of testimonies, tracked down the other vehicle involved and located the driver. He is a 49-year-old Italian, currently under investigation for vehicular homicide and reported for hit-and-run and failure to render aid. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact dynamics of the accident.
