Farewell to Maria Fida Moro: Former Italian Parliamentarian and Daughter of Aldo Moro Passes Away at 77

Goodbye to Maria Fida Moro: she died in a Roman clinic where she had been hospitalized for some time, she was 77 years old. She was a parliamentarian, senator, in the tenth legislature. Maria Fida was the eldest of the four children of Aldo Moro, the founder of Christian Democracy and Prime Minister. She grew up in the Italian political environment, militates and collaborates in various parties. She was elected to the Senate of the Republic in Puglia in 1987 with the Christian Democracy, which she left in 1990, to join the Communist Refoundation. But over the years, she completely changed her political orientation, participating in the constitution of the National Alliance. And in 2008 she joined the Radical Party. In 2013, Moro, her son and others founded a Christian social movement called 'Christian Dimension with Moro', inspired by the politics of the Christian Democratic statesman. Maria Fida's son, Luca, who bears his grandfather's surname at his express request, was Aldo Moro's favorite grandson, who was mentioned several times in the letters written during his days of imprisonment in the hands of the Red Brigades.
