From 2019 to 2021, Villa Farnesina has been the exhibition venue for three major interconnected exhibitions to celebrate Leonardo, Raphael, and Dante - the artists of "The Triptych of Italian Genius". Under this title are enclosed all the initiatives organized by the National Academy of Lincei on the occasion of the fifth centenary of the death of Leonardo and Raphael and the seventh centenary of that of Dante. As a symbolic conclusion of the whole project, the work of Fabrizio Plessi, "Bucare il mare", a triptych of his drawings, is exhibited in the Loggia di Galatea, at Villa Farnesina, from January 11 to April 11, 2024.

The extraordinary ability of the Artist to fit into contexts of great relevance and historical-artistic tradition makes his drawings able to converse with the great pictorial cycles with intensity and, at the same time, with great discretion. The exhibition is presented as an investigation into the functioning of creative thinking, in which the drawing represents the constitutive skeleton of the Artist's work.
