Eurovision 2024: The Second Semi-Final Tonight on Rai2

Tonight on TV, Thursday, May 9, on Rai2 at 9 PM, there will be the second Semi-Final of the Eurovision 2024. The winner of Sanremo 2024, Angelina Mango (who will perform tonight) already has a place secured in the final on Saturday, May 11. Italy is indeed one of the Big Five who, as founders of the EBU organizing the event, participate by right in the final. The other "Big" ones are Spain, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. For other countries and singers competing tonight, it is instead a battle to the last note and, above all, performance. Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Finland, Cyprus, Ireland, Luxembourg, and Croatia have already secured their Final. The seasoned duo of hosts Gabriele Corsi and Mara Maionchi will thus also present the second semi-final to discover the other nations that will complete the lineup of finalists for the grand final on Saturday, May 11. The evening will be preceded by a preview at 8:15 PM, still on Rai 2, during which Gabriele Corsi will offer the audience a journey behind the scenes of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, with curiosities and exclusive interviews. On stage debuts Angelina Mango, who presents for the first time to the European public the song "La noia", fresh winner of the Sanremo Festival and a contender for the lead. The Italian public will be able to express their vote in the semi-final and in the final, but it will not be possible to vote for Italy, nor for France and Spain, who are qualified by right as the Italian representatives. Angelina is 13th in the official lineup: it is therefore likely that she will perform at around 10:30 PM. Only ten countries per semi-final will be admitted to the grand final on Saturday, May 11, airing at 9 PM on Rai 1. During the final, then, a super jury of five members will come into play in each country. The local presenters Petra Mede and Malin Akerman, in addition to the competing singers, will announce the guests for this second evening: the Herreys, Käärijä, Helena Paparizou, Sertab Erener, and Charlotte Perrelli.
