Double Life: A Short Film on Gender Violence Unveiled

Wednesday, June 5, at 4:00 PM, in the press room of the Chamber of Deputies (Via della Missione, 8), the presentation of the short film “Double Life” on gender violence, produced by the film production house “Auromovie”, founded by Alessandra Scardellato and Mattia Pantaleoni, will take place. The goal of the short film (screenplay by Beatrice Tomagnini, directed by Giorgio Molteni), based on true events, is to represent, as authentically as possible, the dynamics that lead to committing acts of violence, to allow viewers to understand the most hidden aspects that determine the emergence of this criminal phenomenon, to foster a deep process of awareness on the issue. "Too often," explains Alessandra Scardellato, "physical violence is just the tip of the iceberg of numerous and different forms of violence perpetrated against women: stalking, psychological violence, economic violence, physical violence, and witnessed violence. Raising awareness among everyone about this phenomenon is the starting point for eradicating it. For this reason, the next step will be to reach the younger generations, through educational institutions." Institutional greetings at the press conference will be given by Hon. Gianfranco Rotondi. Speakers include: Alessandra Scardellato, producer, Giorgio Molteni, director, Mirko Frezza, actor, and Luce Cardinale, actress. The meeting will be moderated by Francesco Vecchi, journalist and Mediaset host of Mattino 5.
