Dawn Police Raid at Laurentino 38 Leads to Multiple Arrests in Mafia Crackdown

Police raided Laurentino 38 at dawn, arresting 5 individuals on precautionary measures issued by the GIP of the Rome Court, upon request of the local Anti-Mafia District Directorate. The detainees are suspected of attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms, possession and trafficking of narcotics, and violation of firearms laws; 3 of these measures are in prison and 2 under house arrest. Premises of thirteen suspects were also searched, leading to the seizure of 300,000 euros in cash. The operation originated from the ambush on the night of September 27, when C.A. was shot in the right leg and went to the emergency room of the "S. Eugenio" hospital. Investigations, also conducted through environmental wiretaps, have shed light not only on the exact dynamics of the criminal event but also on the motives behind the aggression and led to the identification of the perpetrators. These are the M. brothers who, for several years on Via Kafka, have been managing the drug trafficking, imposing themselves on the territory also with the use of weapons to repel any "invaders", as in the case of the ambush on C. A. Rome, 350 kilograms of drugs found in a house: a twenty-year-old arrested. The bricks were disguised in candy wrappers. The M. brothers, unemployed, have previous convictions for trafficking. During the investigative activity, conversations and/or communications were intercepted among those monitored, explicitly referring to the narcotrafficking activity carried out by the M. brothers, indicating them as the managers of the drug dealing area of the XI bridge, or Via Kafka. Throughout the investigation, in addition to having gathered evidence against the suspects, the M. brothers, deemed responsible for the attempted murder of C.A. on September 27, 2023, evidence has also emerged against 11 individuals linked to the well-known criminal B. V. A., regarding a profitable and continuous illegal activity of cocaine possession and trafficking, for which organized verification services have allowed not only to find significant quantities of narcotics but also illegally held firearms. During the execution of the measures, 27,000 euros in cash and 3 Rolex watches were seized.
