Sports and culture: the combination that AiCS already carries in its name finds application again this year with Corritalia, the running event of the Italian Association for Culture and Sports that aims to combine outdoor physical activity, the pleasure of being together, and the rediscovery of the artistic, environmental, and landscape beauties that surround us.

The initiative, now in its 31st edition, is scheduled for Sunday, March 17, and will take place in 35 cities across Italy, from Ancona to Syracuse, from Pordenone to Nuoro, passing through central Italy and reaching the islands. A total of over 60,000 participants are expected, who will be involved in running races open to everyone: athletes, amateurs, and simple enthusiasts. Competitions for AiCS members (Promotional, Absolute, and Master categories) will be organized, as well as non-competitive races at a free pace: here, the protagonists can also be the youngest, thanks to the involvement, by the local AiCS Committees, of many school institutes that will bring their students to the starting blocks, but also parents and teachers.

Everyone will be able to admire and learn more about their historic centers or places of particular cultural, architectural, urban, and landscape interest, which will host the race courses: large city parks or true natural reserves, like that of Monterano in Lazio, which boasts an archaeological and environmental heritage of great value; or the most iconic districts of art cities, like the walk along the San Donnino in Bologna or the historic center of Ancona, which will be crossed together with a tour guide. In Forlì, instead, Corritalia will take place in the recovered city park that became a symbol of the terrible flood last year.

For these peculiar characteristics, «Corritalia - Together for Cultural and Environmental Heritage» (this is the full name of the initiative) has long been recognized by Italian Institutions, such as the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and the Ministry of Culture, which also this year sponsor the initiative.

Corritalia will ideally close the «Sport for All Week», which since last Monday, March 11, has seen the unfolding of events and initiatives organized by the territorial committees of AiCS in collaboration with realities from the world of school, associations, and volunteering, to promote sport as a tool for physical well-being, integration, and inclusion.

AiCS Italian Association for Culture and Sports is a national sports promotion body, and today represents one of the main Italian associations in terms of importance and commitment (in the sports field, but also cultural, social, tourist, and environmental) with over a million members, more than 10,000 clubs, 20 regional committees, and 120 provincial committees located throughout the country. Corritalia is organized with the contribution of the Association's historic sponsors: Allianz, TirGroup, and OK Pubblicità, the official partner for AiCS merchandising.
