Claudio Lippi's Absence from Maurizio Costanzo's Memorial Special

Claudio Lippi does not forget Maurizio Costanzo, but he was the one forgotten during the special, which aired on Tuesday, February 20th on Channel 5, in memory of the late journalist. The host had been alongside Costanzo for many years, especially during the Buona Domenica times. But among the guests present, there was no trace of him. It was Lippi himself who explained the reason for his absence.

What he said

Maria De Filippi, Fabio Fazio and many other characters emotionally linked to the historical conductor were at the Teatro Parioli where the Maurizio Costanzo Show had been broadcast for years. One of the most awaited was Lippi who, however, revealed why he was at home: "Last night, on Channel5, the memory of Maurizio Costanzo a year after his death aired - he wrote on Facebook - Given the precision that characterized your career, you will have realized that I was not there and I think it is right to explain why: first because I was not invited. Second because I preferred to watch it with you, sitting on that stool where you sat behind the guests highlighting their presence", he continued.

And again: "It was exciting and, above all, very intimate, like the frugal lunches you and I consumed before the broadcast and in which I got to know your most intimate part and with the luck of having shared a good part of my career with a man and a professional who taught me so much both for the professional part and for that of life. Thanks again, Maurizio, forever in my heart with imperishable esteem and eternal affection. A hug, Claudio", concluded Lippi.

Lopez's jab

Lopez echoes him, in the comments, not too subtly criticizing the special: "I was invited and was naively convinced to find you, first of all, and I thought I would find myself in a slightly more intimate situation, having the opportunity to remember Maurizio a little more deeply, given the esteem and affection that was mutual. I left that Parioli that I felt so much like my home, with a bit of bitterness in my mouth. Dear Maurizio, during the show that I do with Tullio at the theater, I remember you every night, imitating you, exactly as you asked me to do. And dear Claudio, I feel your bitterness, especially you who were an important point of reference for him".
