«I had returned happy and glad to be there - he said -. I feel the affection of the people, but unfortunately, I believe I will not be able to return. Evidently, someone does not want it». Yet, after the lymphoma, the doors of the show seemed not to have closed for Simone Buzzi: «During the illness, the authors often called me to know how I was doing. After having the checks and knowing I was cured, I agreed with the Rai producer and made tickets to go to Milan. I was very excited, couldn't wait. When they saw me, they were all in tears». Then something changed: «After that day, I did some episodes. Sometimes I had to be absent because I did not have the strength, I did not feel well, I still had to fully recover after chemotherapy. The last episode I did was in June».

The story

Simone Buzzi recounts that he was the one, at first, to refuse the renewal: «In the last episode, contracts are signed. I am superstitious so I said: "Last year I signed the contract and after a week I found out I had cancer. Is it a problem if we sign it later this year?". At the end of August, I had one of the quarterly checks. I was also saying it for them, to be sure I could ensure my presence because I felt uncomfortable saying: "I have cancer, I can no longer participate". So, out of superstition, I didn't sign it. I might have been wrong...I don't know, maybe someone got offended».

And about Antonella Clerici he declares: «Obviously we are talking about an important character. During the illness, she was very present, but if I already have a thousand commitments, I believe she has even less time than me. However, yes, she wrote to me and she too was wondering why I wasn't coming back».
