Cannes Film Festival: A Fashion Scorecard

The third day of the Cannes Film Festival opens today, and the spotlights are not only on but are cast on the looks of the many actresses and actors, as well as international stars who will take part in the parade on the red carpet. From big stars, we expect memorable looks, and we hope that will be the case. Here are our fashion grades

Masoom Minawala (8) in red like the carpet

The Indian influencer does not go unnoticed on the red carpet, even though it seems like she is its extension. Super long, fiery red dress, with a very long train. Unique. Grade 8

Araya A. Hargate (6) transparent

She definitely has the physique to pull off a completely transparent dress but perhaps it's not suitable for the evening. Hinting at lingerie at the Cannes Film Festival is not really the best. Looks wrapped in a huge sarong, perhaps she was confused and thought she was supposed to be in a nightclub on a beach. Grade 6

Meryem Sarah Uzerli (7) excessive

It's unclear whether she decided to wear a carpet or a curtain but overall the dress is not displeasing. Maybe a bit too much: flashy dress and jewels too. Her beauty does not need all these frills. Grade 7

Claudia Gerini (9) Italian beauty

Claudia Gerini never disappoints and brings all the Italian refinement and elegance to Cannes. Simple dress with sequins that do not clash. Radiant, this dress gives her face light. For us, the grade is 9

Rebecca Mir (9) divine

Mermaid texture leather dress, she is divine. Her beauty and charm leave Cannes speechless. Bodice with a neckline that is not at all vulgar. She has sensuality to spare. Grade 9

 

Julie Gayet (6) retro

Pretty for sure, but it seems like she was invited to her niece's communion rather than the Film Festival. Everything seems a bit random and the dress has that retro taste that we don't really like. Grade 6 out of sympathy

Yseult (9) explosive

She has grit and elegance. In one word? Explosive. Leather gloves, hat, sober colors. Nothing to criticize. White jacket, long black pleated skirt. Indeed, she is a model, we expected her to have class and she certainly did not disappoint those who awaited her. Grade 9

Nadine Labaki (10) amazing

Her look wins us over even though we're wondering if she was sweating being dressed a bit too wintery. Maybe she had chosen the outfit a while ago and you know, women when they set their minds to something it's hard for them to change their mind. The fact is that the dress is amazing and she wears it with the grace of divas from another era. Black, long, mermaid: the three characteristics of a divine dress. The applications on the neck and wrists give it that modern touch it needed. The grade could only be 10

 

Omar Sy (8.5) freshness

Omar..yes! We like it. He brings a breath of fresh air to the red carpet. Reminds a bit of Vinicio Marchioni's look at the David di Donatello awards and well, what can we say, black and grey suit both. Omar opts for a broken suit but we approve. The brooch that stands out, well, nice touch, it makes an impression. Only question: the strap on the shoes, which are nice by the way, did he have them made by someone who produces clogs for horses? Asking for a friend. Grade 8.5

Crystal Zhang (9) Greek handmaiden

Looks like a doll out of a manga or anime. Sparkling, the color suits her divinely and she wears the dress with great nonchalance. Transparent bodice and skirt with a deep slit, but it does not seem out of place. This aqua green color and the dress model give us the vibes of a handmaiden from ancient Greece. Grade 9

Rose Bertram (7) ceremony

Like some of her colleagues, perhaps she thought she was invited to a ceremony. It's not Sunday, there are no communions in sight. We are in Cannes and yes, the dress is really beautiful and suits her divinely and perhaps she chose it also to make us jealous of her incredible leg split, which is a 10, but the look is not quite suitable for the ceremony. Grade 7 (for the legs)

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (7) Met Gala style

Ready for next year's Met Gala. We are invaded by contrasting opinions: on one side, it's all too much, on the other, there's something we like. Overall, we can say she is the most unique and eye-catching of the evening. Long tail with golden flowers, golden applications on the dress, large earrings..and golden. But we have to be honest: she wears it with confidence and pride and all this makes her beautiful. Among all these details, we can say we have promoted her. Grade 7
