More than eighty teachers from the main high schools in the Capital will return to university classrooms, taking lessons in Artificial Intelligence. The first appointment of the project 'Artificial intelligence in school: education, training and new teaching methodologies' will start on Wednesday, January 24th at Luiss University. This is a cycle of four monthly meetings, held by the best experts from the University named after Guido Carli and coordinated by @LawLab - Luiss Laboratory on digital law. The initiative, to which the Roman high schools Avogadro, Giulio Cesare, Lucrezio Caro, Righi and Visconti have joined, aims to meet a dual need: on the one hand, to renew teaching methods, on the other, to provide adequate content in line with the revolution introduced by generative AI tools such as ChatGpt, already widely used by their students. The lessons will be held by the University's professors, at the Viale Romania Campus. The cycle of seminars will be opened on Wednesday, January 24th, by Irene Finocchi, Director of the Three-Year Degree Course in 'Management and Artificial Intelligence', who will guide the teachers on an informal and interactive tour of AI applications and new learning techniques, to provide an overview of the main mechanisms behind these technologies. Following on Wednesday, February 21st, Giuseppe Italiano, Director of the Master's Degree Course in 'Data Science and Management', will delve into, also through simulations and creative games, the potential and limits of the use of Artificial Intelligence and ChatGpt. On Wednesday, March 20th, it will be the turn of Pietro Falletta, Director @LawLab - Luiss Laboratory on digital law, who will address the issues of personal data protection and the protection of minors from web risks, such as cyberbullying and fake news. Finally, on Wednesday, April 24th, a focus on the integration between AI and humanities with Antonio Punzi, Director of the Department of Law. At the end of the project, a real 'Handbook' will be available for teachers of the participating institutes, edited by the researchers of the V. Bachelet Center coordinated by Director Bernardo Giorgio Mattarella, which will be delivered on the occasion of the final event, scheduled for May.
