Annalisa: The Rising Queen of Italian Pop at the Billboard Women in Music

Annalisa is increasingly confirming herself as the true queen of Italian pop and beyond. This is evidenced by the Global Force Award she received in Los Angeles at the Billboard Women in Music, given to leading artists capable of making a mark in international music and being an inspiration for the new generations. Annalisa is the first Italian artist to enter the Top 100 Billboard Global and thus to receive this prestigious award. The young Italian singer was greeted with a long applause by the audience of the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park and after receiving the award, she briefly told her story to the audience, citing three of her latest songs: "Bellissima", "Mon Amour" and "Sincerely", with which she ranked third at the last Sanremo Festival. Regarding the latter song, Annalisa wanted to explain its meaning, also indirectly responding to some social controversy where she was accused of making songs too 'light' and lacking in content: "Sincerely, it's a love letter. However, the message to share is stronger: I can be yours only if I am free. And this is the magic of pop music: spreading messages with simple words, and with a rhythm that makes the soul dance. Being here, representing my country and sharing these messages is the greatest victory." During the evening, which from today (March 7) is visible on Billboard.com, Annalisa had the opportunity to meet and take selfies (which she posted on Instagram) with colleagues of the caliber of Katy Perry, PinkPanteheress, and Young Miko. The event also awarded, among others, Karol G, Ice Spice, Charli XCX, and Kylie Minogue.
