The City Council has allocated an additional 438,400 euros, which will allow for the sale of 6,850 new booklets, bringing the total to almost 20,000. This more than doubles the offer compared to last year. Rome, December 29, 2023 - The 12,500 booklets of the third edition of ViviCinema&Theatre put on sale last Friday, December 22, sold out online in less than 48 hours. Given this great success, the Capitolina Administration has decided - with a resolution proposed by the Councilor for Culture, Miguel Gotor, and approved by the Rome City Council - to allocate an additional 438,400 euros to the initiative, in order to be able to put 6,850 new booklets on sale. The measure therefore expands the offer of the initiative wanted by the Department of Culture of Rome and the Chamber of Commerce of Rome and implemented in collaboration with the Association of Cinema Operators of Lazio (Anec Lazio), the Association of Italian Private Theatres (Atip) and the Union of Theatres of Rome (Utr), bringing the total allocated by the municipal administration to over one million euros (1,038,000 euros), which is added to the 200,000 euros allocated in turn by the Chamber of Commerce of Rome. The booklets allow 6 cinema admissions and 3 theatre admissions for the price of 25 euros. The ViviCinema&Theatre Rome project has the dual aim of enhancing the city's entertainment sector, supporting its offer, and promoting people's participation in the cultural life of Rome. 'Given the great adherence of citizens to this third edition of ViviCinema&Theatre, the Administration led by Mayor Roberto Gualtieri has decided to allocate additional funds to it. I really hope that the success of our initiative, and the great need for culture that has been so expressed, translate into a good result for the operators and managers of the theatres. Bringing people closer to cinema and theatre and promoting the consumption of culture were after all the central objectives of our project, which we wanted to enhance and make even more accessible, thanks also to the collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and the adherence of the trade associations', said the Councilor for Culture of Rome, Miguel Gotor. The booklets made available to the public thus become just under 20,000 (19,350) in this edition, compared to 9,300 last year and 7,000 in the 2021/2022 edition. The new booklets will be able to be purchased in the coming days - once the necessary administrative steps have been completed - online on the platform www.vivicinemaeteatro.it. Timely information will be given about when the sale will start. All information, constantly updated, on the start of the sale of the new booklets, the participating theatres, the offer of shows and on the methods and conditions of use of the booklet will always be available on the web platform www.vivicinemaeteatro.it which networks the participating cinemas and theatres.
