48-Year-Old Man Arrested for Stalking 12-Year-Old Girl

For about a month, he had oppressive behaviors towards a 12-year-old girl and had stationed himself outside her school on several occasions. The officers of the police of the VIII District Tor Carbone have arrested a 48-year-old Italian, accused of stalking acts. The policemen, during the territory control service, upon direction from the operational room, intervened in a street of the Eur neighborhood after a report. The 48-year-old, within about a month, had gone seven times under the girl's house with the intent of starting conversations via the intercom, trying to convince her to let him into the house. The last episode would have occurred just last week when the 12-year-old, accompanied by her sister, on the way back home, realized she was being followed by the man; once they arrived at home, the two frightened girls immediately entered the condominium. At that point, the 48-year-old tried to forcibly enter the condominium, taking advantage of the moment the door was opened by the two, repeatedly asking them to let him in. After a few minutes, the officers, arriving on the scene, noticed the presence of the girl's parents, who declared they already knew the 48-year-old accusing him of persecutory and harassing attitudes, repeated over time, towards their daughter. At the end of the investigations, the 48-year-old was arrested and taken to Regina Coeli prison. The prosecutor's office asked for and obtained from the judge for preliminary investigations the validation of the arrest and the application of precautionary custody in jail.
