29-Year-Old Man Arrested for Domestic Abuse Against Pregnant Girlfriend

A 29-year-old man of South American origin has been arrested for abuse against his 23-year-old girlfriend. On March 29, thanks to the thorough investigations carried out by the officers of the X district of Lido di Roma, the man was tracked down and taken to the Regina Coeli prison in execution of a pre-trial detention order issued by the Gip of the Rome Court on March 18. Casamonica, a woman from the clan denounces her partner after being beaten: kicks and punches in front of their daughter. The incident dates back to February 22 when the police, during a territorial control service, upon instructions from the Operations Room, intervened on the Lungomare Paolo Toscanelli following a report of a woman fleeing from her boyfriend who was beating her. Upon arriving at the location of the report, they identified the victim still nearby, who recounted that she had fled from her boyfriend's violence; at that moment, the officers alerted the 118 personnel to take the woman to the nearest hospital. The boyfriend had repeatedly hit her in different parts of the body despite knowing that his girlfriend was 3 months pregnant. The woman told the police that the man had already had this type of attitude on other occasions, abusing her both verbally and physically, leading her into a significant state of anxiety and thus causing a change in her normal lifestyle.
