Born in Córdoba, Argentina, on October 20, 1978, Alberto Ammann is 45 years old. Son of Nélida Rey and journalist, politician and writer Luis Alberto Ammann, shortly after his birth he moved with his family to Spain during the military dictatorship in Argentina. Having returned to his homeland, he studied and attended the acting school of Juan Carlos Corazza, as well as studying at the Jolie Libois Theater seminar, located in the province of Córdoba. In 2009 he made his debut as the protagonist in the prison thriller "Cell 211", for which he won the award for best new actor at the Goya Awards 2010. The following year he is the protagonist of "Lope", a film about the life of the poet Lope de Vega, directed by Brazilian Andrucha Waddington. He subsequently starred in the science fiction film "Eva" and in the thrillers "Furious Speed - Dangerous Curves" and "Mindscape". In 2011 he joined Keira Knightley in a commercial for Chanel. From 2015 to 2017 he played the role of Pacho Herrera, a member of the Cali cartel, in the Netflix TV series "Narcos". In 2016, he played the role of the hydrologist and geochemist Javier Delgado in the National Geographic series "Mars". In 2022 he starred in the film "Upon Entry - The Arrival", coming soon to cinemas in Italy.

In a relationship with colleague and actress Clara Méndez-Leite, Alberto Ammann has no children.
