Roberto Baggio, one of the greatest footballers of all time, has never hidden his immense love for nature. In fact, on January 23, 2013, when he left his position as president of the FIGC Technical Sector, he decided to retire from football to dedicate himself entirely to his home and his farm located in the hilly area of Altavilla Vicentina, in the province of Vicenza. A very quiet and peaceful structure, it is located far from the city center, shops, and social life. In this place, Baggio spends his days raising animals and practicing his Buddhist faith. On the evening of Thursday, June 20, while the Italy-Spain match for the European Championship was taking place, the former champion was the victim of a robbery, from which he fortunately emerged unscathed (along with his family).

The House

Baggio's villa is a large country house, rustic in some aspects, but still equipped with modern and technological comforts. Baggio lives there with his wife Andreina and their two sons. The 1993 Ballon d'Or winner's residence, often visible on Baggio's newly opened social media channels, is immersed in the greenery of a park surrounded by trees and fields. The central hall, characterized by a large window overlooking a spacious garden, is particularly bright. In the center of the room is a billiard table, often used to hold art books. The walls are adorned with abstract paintings, pop art works, and images of Baggio with his family. The exterior of the villa is made of exposed bricks and features braziers for cooking meat and a pergola.

Baggio's Activities

Baggio, known for his privacy, has always avoided the spotlight. In the 2022 documentary "A Simple Question," Alessandro Cattelan interviewed the champion: on that occasion, the former footballer showed his villa and his enormous collection of wooden ducks, offering an intimate glimpse into his private life. The fifty-seven-year-old, passionate about Buddhism, raises animals, owns a Panda 4x4, and is a hunting enthusiast. The house also features a private gym, adorned on the walls with photographs of the former striker and his family.
