Marco Mengoni returns to TV in grand style: he will be a guest on 'Che tempo che fa', the program hosted by Fabio Fazio, on TV tonight, Sunday, May 11 on channel Nove from 7:30 PM. A highly anticipated presence, let's find out more about him. Born in Ronciglione on December 25, 1988, Marco Mengoni is 35 years old. At 14, while attending a design institute, he enrolled in a singing school, and his teacher decided to include him in a vocal quintet with which he performed in piano bars and venues. At 16, he began his solo career, accompanied for the next three years by a group of musicians with whom he performed in small clubs, presenting covers and songs he wrote and composed, and participating in various auditions. The province of Viterbo began to feel too small for him, so the young man moved to Rome where he started studying languages at university and working as a sound engineer. Later, he moved to Milan to pursue his dream. In 2009, he was chosen by Morgan as a participant in the 16/24 years category for the third edition of X Factor. Mengoni won the talent show and went to Sanremo 2010, where he participated with the song 'Credimi ancora', finishing third. After numerous international successes - including the Best European Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, the first Italian to achieve this - he returned to Sanremo in 2013, winning the festival with the song 'L'essenziale'. Marco Mengoni's career is a succession of successes, both in terms of sales and Italian and international awards. An incredible career, marked by success after success. Mengoni, with 7 albums and 10 tours behind him, has conquered not only the national audience but also international ones. In this regard, we shouldn't be surprised: with his music, his inimitable style, and his incredible lyrics - including 'Due vite' - the singer manages to take us on a journey into his interiority, also marked by a profound illness. In 2024, the singer was chosen by Amadeus as co-host of the first evening of the 74th Sanremo Festival. On November 29, 2024, his new single 'Mandare tutto all'aria', written with Calcutta and Tropico, was released. Around the same time, Mengoni returned to voice acting, once again giving voice to Simba, after 'The Lion King' in 2019, in its sequel 'Mufasa - The Lion King', a film released in theaters on December 19, 2024. The singer is preparing for a 2025 summer as an absolute protagonist with two important tours: 'Marco negli Stadi 2025', starting from Naples on June 21 with already 500,000 tickets sold, and 'Marco Mengoni Live in Europe', which will take him to major stages across the continent from November. Marco's talent doesn't stop at music. Over time, he has also proven to be a good presenter. In 2011, he was chosen to host the MTV event held in Belfast, and the following year he led MTV's programming. He later ventured into voice acting with the character Once-ler in the animated film '3DLorax - The Lorax'. Jealous of his private life, Marco Mengoni also wanted to live his mother's death in absolute privacy alongside his father Maurizio, close relatives, and friends, feeling the warmth of his fans. Nadia Ferrari passed away on September 22 at the age of 65 after a long illness, and Marco withdrew into silence, with fans respecting his wishes. 'Luce' is the song dedicated to her in the album 'Materia'. However, Mengoni is not only talked about for his music but also for his private life, particularly his sexual orientation, which he does not like to label. Marco Mengoni, besides labels, does not like gossip either, being very reserved. However, being a rather well-known and loved public figure, he has not always managed to escape the limelight. Despite his efforts to preserve privacy, he was once photographed by the magazine 'Chi' in the company of a man, an image that fueled rumors of an alleged boyfriend, which were never confirmed. Following the same path as 'Chi', the magazine 'Tabloid' also published photos of the artist with the same man. The couple was photographed in a supermarket and later at dinner, although not in attitudes that suggested deep intimacy. On that occasion, gossip wondered if that mysterious guy was the singer's significant other, but Mengoni never commented on it. A few days ago, he stated that he is single. In the near future, a tour with a beautiful journey through stadiums and then in the fall in European arenas, and in the more distant future, perhaps the realization of his desire for fatherhood. 'Do I think about having a child? Yes, it's important,' he confirmed in an interview. Currently, he is not in a relationship, although he is a fan of love, as he has often admitted: 'I like waking up and going to bed with the constant thought of love. I have this urge to care for others, and in the past, I have overdone it. But now there's no one.' The promise for 2025 is to be himself 'simply in everything: in uncompromising answers, in choices of freedom, in the beauty of a new balance,' even if it means, why not, 'throwing everything away'. Mengoni has opened up and talked about a disorder that affects him: dysmorphia. The singer confessed to suffering from this condition in a recent interview with the weekly 'Sette'. It's a family problem, as other close relatives of Mengoni have also suffered from it: his mother, his aunt, and perhaps even his grandmother. But what is it? What is body dysmorphia? Body dysmorphic disorder is part of the obsessive-compulsive disorders in the DSM-5. The disorder is characterized by an excessive concern for one or more bodily defects. In simple words, a person with dysmorphia suffers because they see themselves as ugly. The person fixates on certain details, on simple features of the face or body, considering them
