"He started shooting at the consortium's leadership. We threw ourselves to the ground, then we stopped and disarmed him," are some of the testimonies from those who survived the insane act of a 57-year-old man who began shooting in Rome outside a bar during a condominium meeting on Via Monte Giberto, Fidene area. "We called for help and waited for the carabinieri," a man told Il Messaggero. "We knew him by sight, being a member of the consortium. Apparently, he had had problems with the consortium." "He said: I'll kill you all. Luckily, the gun jammed," said a second witness. "I thought he was coming to sign because I was collecting the signatures of those present, but instead, he went forward and pulled out a gun and started shooting. He said: I'll kill you all. Then I'm told that the gun jammed, and the other consortium members put him down with some force. He had had issues, I don't know if he was unstable. The meeting had been called for normal administration. We had made several complaints to the Public Prosecutor's Office and to the carabinieri of Ascrea who always defended him, complaints for threats. He didn't want to pay the consortium expenses. This summer we made a volleyball court behind his house, by mistake the children entered his property, he told them "I'll kill you" and they got scared. We called the carabinieri who went but I don't know what happened. He lives without water, without electricity, without sewage." The dynamics of what happened this morning in Colle Salario, Rome, leading a man to shoot blindly while a condominium meeting was in progress, is still to be reconstructed. Three people were killed. The shooting took place outside a bar. Four other people were injured. It was not even 9:30 when several gunshots were heard while the meeting was in progress. Several calls to 112: carabinieri from the Montesacro company arrived on the scene. The man who shot this morning has been stopped and is believed to be in a carabinieri barracks: he is a 57-year-old. The injured are arriving at various hospitals in the capital. At the Policlinico Umberto I, two people: an 80-year-old woman who was hit in the right lung. Fortunately, the bullet entered and exited, so the woman is not in life-threatening danger. The health workers are waiting for a second injured person.
