For now, the bad weather is confined to the northern and central areas of the Capital (hail in the eastern quadrant) but the disturbance will extend both geographically and over time. Rome, rain and hail: weather instability until mid-month. The weather is changing because a vortex of cold air descending from Northern Europe is arriving. Around its center rotates a front of instability that is engaging the northern regions, in particular the Northwest and Friuli VG with scattered showers. Some snowfalls are also reported on the northern Apennines as well as on sections of the western Alps. Further south, the same frontal system is activating conditions of local instability in Tuscany, Abruzzo, and finally also on the Tyrrhenian Calabria. Initially unstable in Tuscany with rains and showers also thunderous, extending during the day to Umbria, Marche, and Abruzzo, clearer skies over Lazio, especially coastal. Snow phenomena on the Apennine areas from about 1000m. In the South, some rain in the morning on the Tyrrhenian peninsular areas, attenuating during the day with temporary clearings, but in the evening again some rain on Campania and upper Tyrrhenian Calabria.
