Peace with his father has never been so close. Prince Harry speaks again about reconciliation with King Charles, just days after the cancer diagnosis. The Duke of Sussex flew to London to see his father for only 45 minutes after Buckingham Palace's note on his illness last week. And in an interview aired by Good Morning America, the Duke of Sussex said: «I love my family».

Harry: «The illness can reconcile me with dad»

Harry was asked if a relative's illness could have a «unifying effect», and he replied: «Yes, I'm sure of it. The fact that I got on a plane, went to see him and spent time with him, makes me happy». The Duke and his wife Meghan Markle are currently in Canada for some events marking a year before the next Invictus Games, the sporting event he founded for war veterans. During the interview, Harry said: «In all these families I see the strength of love that unites them every day. I think any illness unites families».

Harry did not spend time with his brother, Prince William, when he flew from his home in California: he was exclusively with the king at Clarence House. The break in the bond between the brothers is often traced back to the early part of Harry and Meghan's relationship, when she and Kate quarreled. Since they renounced their royal titles in 2020, the couple has often expressed complaints about the Royal Family through media interviews and Harry's autobiography "Spare".
