First place in Portimao and also in the overall standings for Martin. Even though the MotoGP World Championship has only reached its second event, the leaderboard is already starting to take shape with the fight for first place stretching out. The two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia lost important points in the last Grand Prix in Portugal. A crucial fall a few laps from the end, which involved the rider from Piedmont and Marc Marquez, allowed Jorge Martin to win undisturbed.

Thanks to the 25 points won in Portugal, the Spanish rider born in 1998 has extended his lead at the top of this season's MotoGP standings with a total of 60 points. Behind him is Brad Binder with 42 points, while Enea Bastianini completes the podium with 39. Surprisingly in fourth place is Francesco Bagnaia with 37 points, a full 9 points ahead of Pedro Acosta who is fifth with his RedBull.
