For the International Women's Day on Friday, March 8th, a demonstration has been called, which will also have repercussions on the traffic of the central areas of Rome. The demonstration coincides with a general strike to which various trade unions and activist organizations have joined. However, the strike does not affect local transport: metro, buses, and trams in the capital on March 8th will be guaranteed. Strike on March 8, 2024, who joins? The procession for the International Women's Day will gather at 10 am (and will continue until 2 pm) at Piazzale Ugo La Malfa, near the Circus Maximus. From there, the demonstrators will proceed through Via del Circo Massimo, Viale Aventino, Piazza Albania, Viale della Piramide Cestia, Piazza di Porta San Paolo, Via Marmorata, Piazza dell'Emporio, Ponte Sublicio, Piazza di Porta Portese, Via Girolamo Induno, Viale Trastevere, to finally end in Largo Bernardino da Feltre. To allow the passage of the procession, deviations or limitations are planned on the following lines: H, 3, 8, 23, 30, 44, 75, 77, 81, 83, 115, 118, 160, 170, 280, 628, 715, 716, 718, 719, 769, 775, 781. Train chapter: regarding the strike proclaimed for tomorrow, Ferrovie dello Stato has announced that an autonomous trade union has called a national general strike for the personnel of the Fs Italiane Group, from midnight to 9 pm on Friday, March 8th. The demonstration of March 9th Another demonstration, launched to call for a ceasefire in Palestine and Ukraine, will take place on Saturday, March 9th, from 1 pm to 7 pm. The procession will gather in Piazza della Repubblica to reach Via dei Fori Imperiali. Along the way, it will pass Via delle Terme di Diocleziano, Via Giovanni Amendola, Via Cavour, Piazza dell'Esquilino, Largo Corrado Ricci, Via dei Fori Imperiali (in the area of Via San Pietro in Carcere).
