Giulio Occhionero, arrested on January 9, 2017 along with his sister Francesca Maria, for alleged large-scale cyber espionage activities, has been released. The decision was made by the judge of the single-member court of Rome, accepting a request from the defender Stefano Parretta. The judge ordered Occhionero, currently on trial, to sign in and stay within a specified area. The Prosecutor's Office had expressed a negative opinion on the release.
