Vittorio Emanuele Parsi, political scientist and full professor of International Relations at the Catholic University, has undergone emergency heart surgery in Treviso after feeling unwell. According to initial information, Parsi, 62, felt unwell on Wednesday evening while he was in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Then, given the seriousness of the situation, he was transported to the hospital in Treviso where he underwent surgery. He is now in intensive care. His condition is reportedly very serious and the prognosis is currently reserved.

The career

Parsi also teaches Strategic Studies and is a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Italian Switzerland in Lugano. He is the director of the High School of Economics and International Relations at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. He is part of the reflection and strategic direction group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is also a founding member of the Society for the Study of Democracy and teaches at the training school of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. He has collaborated with La Stampa, Avvenire, Il Sole 24 Ore, and was a long-time columnist for Il Messaggero.
