Carlos Sainz has been urgently operated on for appendicitis. Ferrari has announced that the surgery was successful and now the driver, who will not be able to participate in the Saudi Arabian GP, the second round of the F1 world championship, will have to undergo a period of rest. He will be replaced, already in today's qualifications, by the reserve Oliver Bearman. On Wednesday, Sainz missed the scheduled media appointment at the Jeddah Corniche circuit, before taking part in the two free practice sessions yesterday. On its X account, Ferrari sent him their support, wishing him a speedy recovery. Ferrari also confirmed that the Spaniard will not participate in the Saudi F1 event and that the British F2 driver Oliver James Bearman, 18, will take his place alongside Charles Leclerc from FP3 onwards.
