40,000 people are expected for the demonstration on Thursday, March 21 in Rome, called "on the occasion of the day of remembrance for the innocent victims of the mafia". The procession will start around 8:30 from Piazza dell'Esquilino: from there it will reach the area of the Circus Maximus, going through Via Merulana, Via Labicana, Via Celio Vibenna, Via di San Gregorio, Via dei Cerchi. The event, promoted by Libera, is expected to conclude around 13. At the head of the procession will be the family members of the mafia victims, who will be, from 8, in the stretch of Via Merulana between Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore and Largo Brancaccio. They will arrive on board twelve buses provided by the carabinieri. But already from the midnight before (between Wednesday and Thursday) parking bans will be in effect throughout Piazza dell'Esquilino, Via dei Cerchi, Piazza Bocca della Verità, Via del Circo Massimo, Piazzale Ugo La Malfa, and Viale del Monte Oppio. Finally, in Via Merulana parking will be limited to the stretch between Piazza di Santa Maria Maggiore and Largo Brancaccio. To allow the passage of the procession, modifications to the circulation of public transport will obviously be arranged. A parking plan for tourist buses has also been defined: about 200 of them will arrive from all over Italy.
