The 31st World Pizza Championship 2024 took place in Parma, from April 9 to 11. Over 1200 pizzaioli from 56 nations competed in 12 different categories at the Palaverdi venue in Parma. The 'festival of taste', the most awaited event of the Capital: from April 24 to May 1 at Eur. The winner The most coveted section, the World Pizza Team, was won by the team of Andrea Gallizzi, chef and creative mind of Pizzateca, a pizza al taglio pizzeria that from the municipality of Roviano, a historic village of 1,500 inhabitants in the Aniene Valley, reached Rome in Via Cesare Ricotti in the historic Casal Bertone neighborhood, where in a very short time it became a point of reference not only for the neighborhood but for many enthusiasts and curious people who come to Pizzateca from all over the city to taste the specialties produced by Andrea's team, the new World Champion. Chef Andrea Gallizzi, thanks to his long experience in the kitchen, has been able to bring the traditional flavors of the territory to the pizza al taglio using fresh, seasonal, and quality ingredients to create the menus of Pizzateca. The precious recognition from Parma is once again a tangible sign of the quality and creativity of the entire staff of the Pizzeria in Casal Bertone. In the two current locations of Pizzateca in Roviano and Rome, you can find, try, and enjoy, among many specialties, also the pizza al taglio with an eggplant base that has become today's world champion.
